Design and fabrication
The project included:
- Fabrication
- NDT
- Load testing
The pipes had to be transported via rail to Tennant Creek and then transferred onto road transport to site.
By using the transport racks, 22 pipes could be loaded into the transport rack at Darwin's East Arm Wharf then loaded onto rail carts in a single lift for transport to Tennant Creek.
Once in Tennant Creek the transport racks could then be loaded on to extendable trailers for transport to the storage facility.
SLE Engineering provided assistance with design of the rack, and supplied the materials and carried out the fabrication.
